This will be brief, as I don’t have much to add to this that wasn’t said in the content I received.
I spoke before of the sisters that harvested the squirrel in their back yard. The younger of the two wanted to harvest her own squirrel, and has been prowling around since then.
These pictures arrived in my email today, along with this note:
Dear the Batton family, today I shot a squirrel! It was in our tree, and I aimed and shot it! It dropped out of the tree dead, right in the heart! Dad helped me clean it, and now its marinating in the refrigerator! luv Haylee
I’m so proud 🙂

There’s hope for this world yet. Did she read the book or see the movie “Hunger Games? Just curious. What did she do with the hide?
Both sisters are VERY outdoors-oriented, and their father will eat anything, much like me. (He & I spend HOURS talking about how tasty a manatee might be)
Not sure if either girl has read the Hunger Games. I read the whole series, it was pretty good.
And they discarded the hide, I’m sure….
Hehehe… I like Ridgerunner’s query about the hide. I’ve seen squirrel hides being sold at the WV Trapper’s fair.
