Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 9, 2026

FloridaHillbilly.com is operated by DockLight Labs LLC. This policy explains what information this site may collect, how it is used, and the choices available to visitors.

Comments

When you leave a comment, WordPress may collect the information entered in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user-agent string, to help with spam detection and site security. Your email address is not displayed publicly.

If you choose the comment-form option to save your name, email address, and website, WordPress stores that information in cookies in your browser so you do not have to enter it again on a later comment.

Gravatar and spam filtering

Comments may use the Gravatar service. An anonymized string created from your email address may be sent to Gravatar to determine whether you use that service. If your comment is approved, your profile image may be visible with your comment. Gravatar is operated by Automattic; its privacy policy is available at Automattic Privacy.

This site uses Akismet for spam protection. Comment information may be processed by that service for spam detection.

Contact and correspondence

If you contact FloridaHillbilly by email or another contact method, the information you provide is used to respond to you, maintain relevant correspondence, and protect the site from abuse. Do not send sensitive personal information unless it is necessary.

Server logs

The web host and WordPress may create routine technical logs containing information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps, and error information. These logs are used for security, troubleshooting, and site operation.

Embedded content and external services

Older and newer articles may contain embedded content or links from third-party sites, including video, social-media, product, mapping, or other services. Embedded content can behave as though you visited the third-party site directly and may allow that third party to collect data, use cookies, or track interaction according to its own policies.

Affiliate links and advertising

Some links may be affiliate links. If you follow one of those links, the merchant or affiliate network may use cookies or similar technology to attribute a purchase or other action to FloridaHillbilly. FloridaHillbilly may receive a commission without increasing your purchase price. See the Disclosure & Site Disclaimer for more information.

How information is used

Information collected through the site is used to operate and secure the site, publish and moderate comments, respond to visitors, diagnose technical problems, understand site activity, and meet legal obligations where applicable.

Sharing

FloridaHillbilly does not sell commenter or contact information. Information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate the site, such as the web host, WordPress-related services, spam filtering, embedded-content providers, and affiliate merchants when you choose to interact with them. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect the site and its users.

Retention

Approved comments and related metadata may be retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized and discussion history can remain intact. Correspondence and technical records are kept only as long as reasonably useful for site operation, security, recordkeeping, or legal obligations.

Your choices

You can decline the comment cookie option, block or delete cookies through your browser, and avoid third-party embeds or affiliate links. If you have left comments or otherwise provided personal information directly to this site, you may request access to or deletion of information FloridaHillbilly controls, subject to information that must be retained for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed specifically to children under 13. FloridaHillbilly does not knowingly solicit sensitive personal information from children.

Contact

Questions or privacy requests can be sent through the Contact page.

This policy may be updated as the site, its services, or applicable requirements change. The date at the top of this page will show the most recent revision.
