Reef Hunter

I’ve mentioned my friend SB several times. He and his family introduced me to spear fishing, a past time I’ve used to replace one of my old loves, hunting. SB has also impressed me with his smoked rabbit and reminded me of the value of brining before cooking.

And since he was raised where I live now, he knows a few things that only a local would know, and hes been kind enough to show me some of them…”secret” fishing spots, methods of harvesting local fish and game, my desire to try manatee steaks, as well as a few more ornery things I’ll not mention, on the grounds that it may incriminate me.

Our two families get together from time to time, and every time, we have lots of fun, I usually learn something, and they make me happy that I’m “stuck” in Florida.

So when they started a small business capitalizing on his wife’s artistic talent by creating a line of decals, goodies, and apparel for the spearfishing enthusiast, I wanted to help them out in any way I could.

HogfishSo, my wife and I spent a day with them hanging out in support at a local seafood festival, and got to handle the merchandise. Liking what we saw, we ended up buying some ourselves, and we weren’t alone. The debut product is a hogfish with a pigface on a diver down flag background, and was an obvious hit with the local crowd.

Reef HunterOnce they established that they had a winning idea, they’ve decided to start a website and take orders, so I wanted to mention them here. They are currently taking orders at reef-hunter.com and products can be seen at their Facebook page. Stop over, take a look at what they have so far, and “like” their page.

They have a couple of local shows planned in the near future, keep an eye out on their Facebook page for the details. And stay tuned, we are orchestrating a dual giveaway both here and on Facebook.

Peace,
db

As always, please “like” FloridaHillbilly on Facebook, subscribe to my feed,  follow me on Twitter, add it to Google+, Pinterest, Linkdn, Digg, and/or tell your friends! The more folks that start preparing themselves, the less likely they are to sneak into your backyard and go spearfishing in your Aquaponics system!

Need something from Amazon (and who doesn’t)? I earn a small commission from purchases made when you begin your Amazon shopping experience here. You still get great Amazon service and the price is the same, no matter what.
