Kindle Books – Three For FREE!

Update 4 Apr 2013 11am : These things move FAST! The first two are already no longer free, unless you are an Amazon Prime member. Bummer.

I’m a HUGE fan of the Kindle, and all eReaders for that matter. I fell in love with the Kindle’s readability, and since they are part of Amazon (this century’s version of WalMart), I really don’t think you can go wrong…

I’ve been writing about my library lately, and will continue to do so. However, today, I wanted to show you three great books from Amazon that are free. Yes, FREE.

For a limited time only as a promotion, these books can be downloaded and are yours, at no cost to you. But you don’t have a way to read the files? Then simply download the free Kindle Reader app.

1.

The first is Raised Bed Gardening: How To Grow Vegetables and Food With Easy, Simple Raised Bed Garden Designs.

From the description:

“I Believe Every Person On This Planet Can Grow Healthy Food Using These Proven Raised Bed Gardening Techniques”

I agree. I like this book because it is short, sweet, and free!

The next is A Beginners Guide to Home Canning & Food Preserving: Recipes, Jams, Marmalades, Jellies, Chutneys, Relishes Plus More…

From the description:

“A Beginners Guide to Home Canning & Food Preserving is for anyone wanting to learn the art of Home Canning.”

Even I saw a few new things as I skimmed over this one., the one I’m most looking forward to trying is “Salted Anchovies”. THAT should please the wife!

The book covers such topics as:

  • History of Food Preservation
  • Definitions of Various Food Preservation Methods
  • Food Safety and Safety Precautions
  • Sourcing Tools, Equipment and Food
  • Altitude Adjustments
  • Water Bath Canning Details & Pressure Canning Details

3.

The final book I’m suggesting you rush right out and snag while it is free is Food Drying: Food Dehydration and Safe Storage.

From the description:

“This book is chock-full of the information you need to get started dehydrating foods. Learn how to safely dehydrate and store the food you grow, catch and buy. “

Since dehydrating is something I do a lot of, this book will get a lot of use. I’m happy to have finally found a book simply on dehydrating food for long term storage.

Topics covered in this book include the following:

  • The benefits of food drying.
  • The nutritional value of dried foods.
  • How to keep dried foods safe by following the Golden Rules of Food Dehydration.
  • All of the safe food drying methods are covered, including oven-drying, sun-drying, commercial dryers and freeze-drying.
  • How to pre-treat food before you dry it for best results.
  • How to dry fruits, vegetables, meats, fish and herbs and spices.

Price at the time of this writing: $FREE!

There you go, three free books on growing food and then storing it. I’ve already started going through them all, and at the price of freeee!

(Thanks for all the laughs, Adam!)

Peace,
db

There is no telling where I might take you on our little journey, but at the end, we should all have become a little better for having taken the trip.

Need something from Amazon (and who doesn’t)? I earn a small commission from purchases made when you begin your Amazon shopping experience here. You still get great Amazon service and your price is the same, no matter what.

  1. Thanks db. I downloaded two of those books. Also thinks for those traps. I’ll put them to good use this winter.

  2. I missed the first two books and got the second one. In my disappointment, I started scrolling through the “also recommended” lists and found 12 (yes a dozen) free books that I was plenty happy to download. Thanks for the tip DB!
How often do you search to find these? Do you get a reminder from Amazon?
