I got a chance to taste this today…I was floored…BT is trying out the Paleo lifestyle also, so anything he makes is going to be a good bet to be safe for the other cavemen, like me. Look at the very bottom for my pics.

Mango BBQ Sauce (by BlueTang)

We had a such killer mango crop this year, I decided to try a batch of BBQ sauce.

I cut ’em up, and pureed them.To that, I added sauteed Vidalia onions and garlic, chopped jalapenos, lime juice, yellow mustard, bourbon, cider vinegar, Worcestershire, S & P, and a healthy dose of my home made fermented pepper sauce.

My pH meter took a dump, so I pressure canned it instead of HWB. It was probably OK, but…

Smoked up some spares to try it on

I gotta say, I am happy! It really goes great with the pork, not overpowering at all, a nice kick on the backside too.

I will add more jalapenos next time, but that will probably be all. Thanks for lookin!

BT

I traded out a jar of canned rabbit and some Malabar spinach cuttings for some of BTs items, and this was one of them. I browned up some smoked wild hog sausage (also from BT back in March 2012) and allowed the family to sample it. Unanimously agreed it was mighty fine! I’ll be making some crock-pot pulled pork tonight for this to accentuate. A little bummed I only got a two half-pints…gotta bring more trade items to the table next time 🙁

THANKS, BT!

Have safe weekend!
